Magnetic Eyelashes: How to wear them?

    Magnetic Eyelashes

We’re all used to wearing mascara; we’ve been doing it for years, right?   It’s a simple procedure; you take the stick out of the tube, coat your lashes and put the stick back in the tube.  Pretty easy, right?  Well, yes and no.  Yes, the application process is easy; however, it’s not the application process that people complain about when using mascara.  The problem with mascara has always been how it wears throughout the day and the evenings.  It seems like no matter the brand or the cost, at the end of the day, you’re left with clumpy and smudged eyelashes.  Happily, however, there is another option readily available to everyone, and it will change how you look at your make up routine.

They say eyes are the window to the soul.  If that’s the case, magnetic eyelashes make for a beautiful and elegant frame.  These lashes are a fantastic way to show off the beauty of your eyes.  The application process is easy to learn and there are multiple tools available to make it simple and fun.  Another great aspect of these lashes is that they won’t damage your existing eyelashes.  Unlike glue-on products, magnetic lashes are safe and easy to apply yourself.

The first step is to apply the liquid eyeliner; this will serve as one half of the magnet.  It’s applied the same as any other liquid liner, but you do have to make sure that it’s 100% dry before applying the actual lashes.  To be absolutely positive that the liner is ready, give it 3-5 minutes to dry and then make sure that the liner is dry by touching it with your finger.  If you happen to have hooded eyes, the best practice might involve keeping your eyes closed that whole time to make sure the liner doesn’t end up above your eyelid.  While you are waiting for the liner to dry, apply a thin coat of mascara to help stabilize the magnetic lashes.  Once the liner is dry, simply take the lashes out of their protective box and attach them to your eyelids.  They will stay put all day through rain, wind, tears, sweat or stress.  Best practice includes washing and thoroughly drying your hands before you attach or remove the lashes and cleaning off the eyeliner after every use.  There are swabs available that are designed to make liner removal easy and thorough.  You’ll also want to make sure you clean the lashes themselves from time to time with an oil-free makeup remover to ensure the magnet stays at its optimum strength.

The liner comes in two colours, black or brown and there aren’t any known side effects from using either the magnetic lashes or eyeliner and all ingredients have been deemed safe by the EWG (Environmental Working Group). It’s best to follow the specific directions that come with your package, as every individual product is unique.  When cared for properly, they are reusable up to 30 years on average, and there are a variety of accessories available with the application and removal processes.   It’s a good idea to practice a couple of times before actually wearing them out to an event; once you get the hang of it, you’ll see that using magnetic lashes is the most fun and convenient way to update and upgrade your make up routine.

So many of us have used the same makeup for years.  It’s time for an upgrade, it’s definitely time to try something new and by using magnetic lashes, it’s time to change for the better!
