On this tour you will be staying on the south shore of the island. You will cover Bishop Museum, the gas station where Hurley won the lottery, Mr. Clucks, a bar where Desmond and Charlie have a drink, and the majestic Manoa Valley. It is very important that you follow the Recommended time at location suggestions. Although it is not as critical as it was on the other days, because you wont be covering as much, it is helpful, especially if you are trying to make a quick day of it. I would do the locations in order I have given them to you. I would do Manoa Falls trail last because it is possible you might get muddy or rained on, and no one wants to go to a museum muddy and wet. Or do they..... I recommend leaving your hotel no later than 8:30am. Bishop Museum opens at 9am. I originally had Bishop Museum on the Windward, North Shore and West side guide, but it took up too much time, and you would most likely not make it to the final destination on time. Also you would be cut short if you really wanted to learn about some interesting things there. I also recommend reviewing this day at least once before you do it. Print out the pages to take with you. Also, those of you with smart phones, keep in mind that there may be certain locations that you wont be able to stream the YouTube videos embedded on the location pages because of bad cell phone reception. I have noted on each location page which locations are particularly limited as far as service goes. (FYI: I have an iPhone 4. You might have a different service that may or may not get reception at certain locations that I do/do not.) Also keep in mind that during the months of November-April it gets dark earlier than it does April-November. You assume all risk and responsibility while doing this guide. |
