Waimea Valley Falls

The waterfall is part of the 1,875-acre Waimea Valley Audubon Center. Access is via a nicely maintained paved trail. Pictured at right is the entrance from Kamehameha Hwy opposite from the entrance to Waimea Bay Beach Park.

Directions:
From Hale'iwa or the Hale'iwa bypass, follow Kamehameha Hwy toward Kahuku. The entrance to the park is to the right 50 feet beyond the left entrance to Waimea Beach Park.

Notes:
Formerly the privately owned attraction Waimea Valley Adventure Park, now purchased by the Audubon Society in June 2003 and run as the nonprofit Waimea Valley Audubon Center. Entrance is across from the beach park entrance of the legendary Waimea Valley, where the waters are calm in the summer but winter season waves can reach monstrous sizes of more than 50 feet, as filmed for the feature film Point Break, also depicting Australia in its storyline.
