Michel's at the Colony Surf

This elegant restaurant is located in the Colony Surf Hotel and condominiums along the beach just east of Waikiki along Kapiolani Park. The windows were bluescreened, and the vista of Niagara Falls added later.

Notes

There is no restaurant at Niagara Falls at the location indicated by the view, although there is an observation tower.

Hours: For current hours, please call the restaurant. As of 6/2006:

5:30pm-9:30pm (Fri & Sat to 10pm)
Dress code "elegant casual": slacks, collar shirt, shoes.

Directions: From Waikiki take Kalakaua toward Diamondhead, and continue through to exit Waikiki. Continue going straight, with Kapiolani Park on your left and the ocean on your right. The Colony Surf hotel and Michel's will be on your right toward the latter part of the park's length near the fountain.
Lost Virtual Tour

Note the window panes, table candle, chairs, tablecloth folding, and wooden rail on the wall, all of which may be matched to the filming location.
The actual scenery is the beachside.

The restaurant was rearranged for the Lost shooting. Also note the curtains were used at the rear left, and the mirrors covered over. Note the matching chandelier and mirror frames.

The brick outside the window does not exist. Although it is visible in the scene outside the window behind both Rose and Bernard, there is simply beachside space. The brick seems to have been added from an image of the interior columns shown here. This theory is plausible given that Niagara Falls was added.

Note the matching brick pattern from behind Rose, in the photo above from Episode 2x19 S.O.S.

These views do not match, although the brick and chandelier may be identified. The scene from Lost was located in the opposite corner of this room toward the bar area, and the normal location of the tables were rearranged for the filming.
