The log that Claire and Ethan sat on is usually completely covered by the ivy, and only apparent as a lump of ivy next to the palm tree. In this photo the topmost pieces of the branch are visible. This area is off the right side of the trail. We do not recommend walking in because of a 2-foot drop just off the side of the trail that is not visible due to the dense undergrowth. |

1) After parking as for the Manoa Falls Trail, follow the sign (right) into the valley towards Lyon Arboretum. |
|
2) The road to Lyon Arboretum and the Manoa Falls trailhead. There is no parking along this road. |
3) At the end of the road there is a hairpin. Do not turn left to enter Lyon Arboretum. Instead, turn right and walk toward the fenced entrance. |

4) Continue straight to enter at the gated entrance to the trail. Do not continue on the paved road which hairpins left toward Lyon Arboretum.
Note: Along the trail after this gate is the departure point to see the Manoa Banyan, where Charlie was hanged by Ethan Rom. |
5) After about 1/8 mile, you will encounter a second set of trailhead signs. Continue straight. After a few paces, the trail turns to the right to cross a stream over a bridge. |

6) Within moments this is your view, and you have arrived. |
