This is downtown Honolulu's main pedestrian mall. The filming location is also known as "Pioneer Plaza", or "The Financial Plaza of the Pacific".

This image is a promo photo from ABC, and did not appear in the episode. However it caused some wild speculation among Lost fansites about the "missle" or "rocket" visible in the window at rear.


The object was in fact a hyperbaric chamber from an actual business at this location, American Hyperbaric.
