Lost Virtual Tour

Only one more week to go before Lost starts up again with a vengeance! In the mean time, we have one more update. One of our readers, Thierry Guillot, was in Hawai'i on vacation and his contacts had access to the He'eia Kea storage lot, which of course contains the Flight 815 nose piece. It's normally covered by a tarp, but the rear side facing away from the highway is not covered. See his photos on the page. Thanks Thierry!

We have posted a cool new VR panorama on the Manoa Falls Trail page (probably best known for Ethan and Claire's log scene in 2x15 Maternity Leave). Also there are updated photos of the path to Charlie's Banyan from the same trail-- you can actually see the tree (amongst other banyans) from up above on the main trail, and we've plotted out the path from that view.

New matches from the cliffs at Makapu'u, as well as the Ka Iwi Coastline have been posted. These include the Others' fake village, as well as Dave jumping off a cliff and Season 3's hike where Sawyer was shown the bunny and the main island across the ocean channel. Trivia: The #8 rabbit is probably an homage to writer Stephen King's memoir "On Writing."*

We just took a field trip to Waihe'e Valley on the windward side with A.C., who had tipped us off to the waterfall where Michael screams for Walt. We took numerous detours off the main trails and discovered a host of new filming locations, as well as a new appreciation for insect repellent. The trail is actually an unpaved road that leads all the way to just before the base of the waterfall, and of course the close proximity of a road is a must for the film crew, so it makes sense that they picked this waterfall. We'll be posting more updates from this location soon, but for now, enjoy our preliminary photos and matches!

In December we took a trip with Kos Hummer Tours into Ka'a'awa Valley, aka Kualoa Valley. This tour is the only way to see these sites, since the other tours into this private valley (e.g. Horseback, ATV) simply do not go very deep at all-- at best you might see the bottom side of Hurley's golf course. Besides, tour operator Ed Kos happens to be a Lost fan, and he has personally identified many of these sites. We repeat: Since this is a private valley owned by Kualoa Ranch, the Kos Hummer tour is the only way you will see these locations. In the same trip he also gave us access to the private Moli'i Gardens, which contains Jin's fishpond and Eko's cantina...

The Lost film crew is said to be officially off holiday vacation and begins work today. If you happen upon any filming locations you'd like to report, please submit them. Following our "no-spoiler policy", as always we will not post the new locations until after the episode is eventually broadcast.
