Pua'ena Point

This beachside is the part of the Papailoa coastline accessible from Hale'iwa Beach Park. There is also a Palm Grove behind this area that has also been filmed for Lost. Farther to the east is the area known properly as Papa'iloa Beach, or Police Beach, which has also been filmed for Lost.

All beaches in Hawai'i are owned by the state and are public property. However private property is established at the natural vegetation line. A security detail employed by the producers of LOST is on watch near this location 24 hours a day. The security guards WILL ENFORCE the private property boundary. Those caught on private property could be prosecuted for trespassing. Please do not trespass. Please do not disturb the security guards."

Notes

The name Pua'ena means "fire flower" or "red hot flower" in the Hawaiian language.

Hale'iwa Beach Park, far right/east side (Waimea/Kahuku side).


Directions:
From Honolulu side on Kamehameha Hwy (99), take the second entrance to Hale'iwa. Immediately make your first right toward the ocean and park at beach park. Coming from Kahuku, do the same but take the first entrance to Hale'iwa. The harbor is on the left, so it will be obvious to walk towards the right where Pua'ena Point begins.

The view toward Mokule'ia and the western tip of O'ahu. Note that scenes from Papa'iloa Beach proper will show another point of land between the beach and Mokule'ia. That point is this region of the Papa'iloa coast by Hale'iwa beach park.
