Notes |
|
The ranch is private property!
Do not trespass!
Directions:
From Hale'iwa town, travel towards Waimea/Kahuku on Kamehameha Hwy (83), passing the intersection with Papailoa Rd. on the left. As soon as the vegetation ends on the left and Laniakea Beach is visible, stop in the parking area to the right. The tree is approximately 100 yards back towards Hale'iwa on the mauka (mountainside) of the road.
Notes: This ranch was formerly owned by Meadowgold Dairy.
The adjacent beach park of Laniakea is named for a spring near Kamehameha Hwy. and Pohakuloa Way, and means wide sky. The waters off the beach is known as the location for one of the earliest surfing movies, The Big Surf (1956), by Bud Browne.
