For details on the specific location of this Banyan tree, see notes on the rock with the trail sign, as described in the photos for Episode 2x15 Maternity Leave, below: |

This is the same grove of trees that Danielle Rousseau, Kate, and Claire walk by in Episode 2x15 Maternity Leave. See the notes for that episode below for the specific location of this grove. |

This is the first stream crossing in the Judd Trail. It lies only a minute's walk from the trailhead.

A wider view of the same stream crossing shows a trail sign next to a rock. Does the rock look familiar from Lost? For a reminder, see below: |

The trail sign was obviously removed for the filming. Note the matching Banyan tree at center background. This is the Banyan tree as seen in Episode 1x14 Special.

Within 10 feet behind the large rock is another boulder.

If you crouch next to this second boulder and hold your camera at ground level, and turn around, you will see the following view from Lost: |

The tree at left is actually a small sapling from a distance of about 12 inches at near ground level. |

At center is a small grove of trees. It's a hiker's favorite for photographs as you can stand in the middle of the grove as sunlight shines down on you. This is also the same grove as seen in Episode 1x14 Special and the night view from Episode 1x15 Homecoming.

1) Nuuanu Pali Drive, traveling north. After the fork with the Old Pali Rd., you'll encounter a bridge (more like a roadside rail) at a steep right curve, then another small bridge at a straightaway, then finally a small bridge on a left curve, as seen above in this photo. The trailhead is at the right by the white car at center. |

2) Stepping off the road, this is your immediate view. Note the Judd Trail marker at lower left, and another trail marker at rear center. This area was filmed as Eko's burial location and Jacob's shack. |

3) The same marker from the previous photo. The trail continues at center left. |

4) This view looking down a mild slope a mere 10 feet beyond the sign in the previous photo.
(Midway down before the next view, turn right to see the grove of trees seen with Claire in Episode 1x15 Homecoming.) |

5) At the bottom of the slope you can see the stream crossing sign. |

6) You've arrived. This location is easily less than a minute's walk away from the trailhead at Nuuanu Pali Dr. See the VR panorama below to locate the grove of trees, as well as the banyan further downhill. |

7) A view across the stream to the paths beyond. We have not located any filming locations on the other side of this crossing. |

Quicktime VR Panorama of the area seen above. Visible landmarks from Lost are: the stream crossing, Kate's boulder, and the grove of trees. |

This is the same tight grove of trees as seen in the other episodes above. This view is from the side from almost within the trees-- in this photo, the stream crossing would be forward, and then to the left. |

The tree Eko was smashed against is within feet of the roadway. |

The tree in the right foreground is the same tree that Ben and Locke in Episode 3x20 The Man Behind the Curtain pass on their way to Jacob's shack, which was built to the rear of the funeral party in this image. |

This clearing lies immediately on the other side of the guard rail along Nuuanu Pali Drive. |

Young Ben met Richard Alpert immediately by the stream crossing. |

The dark tree at the center foreground is the same one that was in the extreme foreground during Eko's funeral in Episode 3x06 I Do.

Note the telltale bamboo grove at the left edge of the stream. This is the same first stream crossing as filmed in Episode 2x15 Maternity Leave.

The site of Jacob's shack is less then a dozen steps from the side of the road.

Jacob's shack was built in the first clearing immediately by the concrete barriers along Nu'uanu Pali Drive. This is approximately the same location where Eko's funeral was filmed in Episode 3x06 I Do.
