Cockroach Cove

The access to this cove is at the scenic lookout parking lot for "Halona Blowhole" immediately after the one for the Lana'i Lookout.

Footing along the trail may be treacherous with sharp rocks and gravel, so caution is advised. Do not leave valuables in your car, especially if you are driving a tourist rental.

Notes

This has been the filming location of a few movies: From Here to Eternity, 50 First Dates, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, and Journey to the Center of the Earth 2: The Mysterious Island.

Parking #1: This is the prefered area to park. If you can't park here, park at the other parking location.

1. After passing Hanauma Bay, the second scenic lookout turnoff (pictured here) provides the access to Cockroach Cove. A sign to the far end of the parking lot identifies it as parking for viewing the Halona Blowhole.	A wider view. Note that although you may see local swimmers and divers from the rocky shore frequenting the cove's waters, we do not recommend entering the water, as water conditions here are capricious and are often very dangerous!
	2. The scenic lookout parking lot: Do not leave valuables in your vehicle, especially if you are renting a car.
3. The path down to the cove begins just behind the guardrail at the entrance to the turnoff.	4. A view back up to the guardrail
